What the work is, day to day
Businesses send customer lists, product sheets and records full of duplicates and odd formats. AI does the first pass and flags every record it isn't sure about. You decide what each flagged record should be and explain what changed.
AI does the first pass
De-duplicates the data, normalises names, dates, phone numbers and addresses, and flags uncertain records.
You check and finish
Review each flagged record, fix, merge or keep it, and write a change summary.
WorksAfrica reviews every step
A reviewer checks a random sample of changed records against the original data.

How you get jobs
- When a client orders AI Data Cleaning, the job opens on your Jobs board and we notify qualified members.
- You apply. The WorksAfrica team picks one applicant or assigns the job directly.
- Each job has a delivery window that starts when you're assigned. Finish every step on time: a missed deadline means the job is handed over and its pay is lost.
How and when you're paid
- You earn your share of each order you deliver.
- Your pay is confirmed when the client accepts the work, or automatically when the review window ends.
- WorksAfrica pays on the 15th and 30th of each month, to your payout account.
Questions about this role
Do I need to be good at maths?
No. You need care and patience. The AI Data Operations track teaches the spreadsheet skills and the checks you'll use.
Is client data safe?
You only use the files shared on the task, inside WorksAfrica, and never contact the client directly. Foundations covers the confidentiality rules.
Does it cost anything?
No. The Academy, its tracks and its badges are free, and WorksAfrica never asks you to pay to get work.
Do I need experience?
No paid experience is needed. The track teaches the skills, and the quizzes and reviews show when you're ready.
